Le French Festival returns to Malaysia from 29 May to 14 July 2024, celebrating its 22nd edition with a vibrant mix of events that highlight sport, family, and inclusivity.

Le French Festival returns to Malaysia from 29 May to 14 July 2024, celebrating its 22nd edition with a vibrant mix of events that highlight sport, family, and inclusivity. This year's festival aims to bridge Malaysian and French cultures, resonating with the spirit of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.


Co-organized by the Alliances Françaises de Malaisie and the Embassy of France in Malaysia, the festival will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuching, fostering deeper connections with the local community and ensuring an inclusive atmosphere.


Event Highlights:

  • Cinematic Delights: Enjoy 16 curated French films including The Three Musketeers: Milady, The Taste of Things, and family-friendly options like Epic Tails and The Little Nicholas.

  • Digital Adventure: On 2 June, dive into cinema and digital art with short films, virtual reality games, workshops, and exhibitions.

  • French Celebrations: Celebrate Fête de la Musique on 23 June at Titiwangsa Park with performances by Malaysian and French artists, and enjoy French National Day on 14 July with food, drinks, and music.

  • Sports Events: Kick off on 30 June with "The Little Champions" for kids, followed by breaking battles featuring DJ T-Sia and renowned breakdancers. Participate in a Fun Run at Titiwangsa Park on 7 July, ending with a flea market stroll.

  • Arts for Everyone: Enjoy theatre, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops throughout the festival.


Starting 23 May, Le French Festival 2024’s movie screenings is available at Golden Screen Cinemas on the following cities and dates:

  • Kuala Lumpur: 29 May - 14 July

  • Penang: 13 June - 23 June

  • Johor Bahru: 27 June - 30 June

  • Kuching: 4 July - 7 July
