Gemilang Kampong Gelam (GKG) 2025 returns for its fifth edition from 19 February to 25 March 2025, bringing back the vibrant Ramadan festivities in Singapore’s historic Kampong Gelam district. Organized by One Kampong Gelam and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), this highly anticipated event showcases the rich cultural heritage of Singapore’s oldest urban district while integrating elements of community engagement and sustainability.

Gemilang Kampong Gelam 2024 featured a total of 140 F&B and retail partners

Building on the success of its 2024 edition—which saw an impressive 1.1 million visitors, nearly double the attendance from 2023—GKG 2025 continues to offer a diverse and engaging experience for both local and regional visitors. The 35-day celebration features an exciting lineup of activities, including an array of culinary delights, the mesmerizing Sultan Mosque Light Show, interactive workshops, and dynamic performances blending tradition with contemporary artistry.

This year also marks several firsts in the festival’s history, including the Kampong Charity Run 2025, a collaborative effort with Drugfree SG and Big Boyz Run Club, aimed at promoting drug-free awareness and healthy living. Other new additions include the Kampong Tour, a Mystery Treasure Hunt, and a Stamp Rally, offering visitors an immersive experience of Kampong Gelam’s cultural and historical significance.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, GKG 2025 introduces several green initiatives. In partnership with Gorental.SG, the festival will deploy 100% solar-powered clean battery generators, reducing air and noise pollution while lowering the event’s carbon footprint. Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own water bottles to enjoy discounted drinks from participating vendors, and close to half of all F&B booths will adopt recycled packaging materials, reinforcing the festival’s dedication to eco-friendly practices.

GKG 2025 welcomes back popular vendors such as House of Lemang, Picanhas, and Satay Ummi, offering a mix of traditional and contemporary flavors at the Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar. Shoppers can also explore a variety of trendy and traditional brands, including Baju Fifty-Eight, Deanqaisara, and Pretty Sugar, bringing a unique blend of heritage and modern fashion to the marketplace.

GKG 2025 will host the precinct’s annual communal Iftar, bringing together 1,000 attendees for a meaningful Ramadan gathering. This special event underscores the festival’s core values of unity and inclusivity while fostering connections among diverse communities.
